  4-H Camps

Marion County offers several one-day camps throughout the year that focus on specific subject areas.  The ultimate camping experience can be had each summer at Camp Ocala.  The youth spend a week in cabins and take part in fun activities such as crafts, canoeing, archery, team building and leadership workshops, and swimming.

Below is a listing of the 4-H Camps throughout Florida.

» Camp Timpoochee
State 4-H marine and sportfishing camp
.  This camp is held at the Camp Timpoochee 4-H Center which is separated from the Destin beaches by the Choctawatchee Bay (located in Niceville, Florida).  During the week youth will explore local marine environments from above and below the waterline.  Sportfishing sessions will help youth learn about local fish and how to catch them. A fishing trip is included.  Timpoochee's marine lab is equipped with large aquariums supporting life from both fresh and saltwater habitats. Activities include snorkeling, swimming, canoeing, recreational games, campfires, and evening activities. A daily snack from the canteen and a summer camp t-shirt are included in the camp fees, along with three nutritious meals per day prepared on site by a certified food-safety staff.  Campers must be between the ages of 8-13.

» Camp Cloverleaf

Across the road the camp has a 25-acre wetland tract with boardwalks meandering throughout, perfect far hiking and even more exploration. This week is full of learning and fun activities such as canoeing, swimming, recreational games, campfires, fishing, a dance and more.  It's guaranteed to provide youth with an exciting "Outdoor Ed-Venture"! A daily snack from the canteen and a summer camp t-shirt are included in the camp fees, along with three nutritious meals per day prepared on site by our certified food-safety staff.  All cabins are air-conditioned.  Campers must be between the ages of 8-13.
