Marion County offers several one-day
camps throughout the year that focus on specific
subject areas. The ultimate camping experience can be
had each summer at Camp Ocala. The youth spend a week
in cabins and take part in fun activities such as crafts,
canoeing, archery, team building and leadership
workshops, and swimming.

Camps throughout Florida.

Camp Timpoochee
State
4-H marine and sportfishing camp .
This
camp is held at the Camp Timpoochee 4-H Center which is
separated from the Destin beaches by the Choctawatchee
Bay (located in Niceville, Florida). During the
week youth will explore local marine environments from
above and below the waterline. Sportfishing
sessions will help youth learn about local fish and how
to catch them. A fishing trip is included.
Timpoochee's marine lab is equipped with large aquariums
supporting life from both fresh and saltwater habitats.
Activities include snorkeling, swimming, canoeing,
recreational games, campfires, and evening activities. A daily snack from the canteen and a summer camp t-shirt
are included in the camp fees, along with three
nutritious meals per day prepared on site by a certified
food-safety staff.
Campers must be between the
ages of 8-13.

Camp Cloverleaf
"Outdoor Ed-Venture"
week.
Located
on the Lake Wales Ridge just north of Lake Placid,
Cloverleaf 4-H Center is situated directly on Lake
Francis, a 545-acre basin with plenty to explore.
Across the road the camp has a 25-acre wetland tract
with boardwalks meandering throughout, perfect far
hiking and even more exploration. This week is full
of learning and fun activities such as canoeing,
swimming, recreational games, campfires, fishing, a
dance and more. It's guaranteed to provide
youth with an exciting "Outdoor Ed-Venture"! A daily
snack from the canteen and a summer camp t-shirt are
included in the camp fees, along with three
nutritious meals per day prepared on site by our
certified food-safety staff. All cabins are
air-conditioned.
Campers must be between the
ages of 8-13.

Camp Ocala
Shooting sports and
sportfishing
camp.
Held
at Camp Ocala 4-H Center, this camp is designed to
teach life skills through fun, noncompetitive
activities in shooting sports, sportfishing and
natural resources. Campers will participate in
several different tracks like archery, rifle,
shotgun, angling skills, aquatic life, and tackle
crafting. Campers will also learn about Florida's
unique natural resources through a variety of games
and group experiences. Add in swimming, canoeing,
recreational games, campfires, nature center
activities, and trail hiking and you have an
exciting week filled with outdoor learning
experiences.
Campers must 10 or older.
