The Master Gardener Program is a horticultural training program offered by the UF/IFAS Marion County Extension Service. The program lasts 13 weeks with classes meeting once a week for a minimum of six hours. A $140.00 fee covers all course materials and is due at enrollment. Participants who complete the program, become certified Master Gardeners.

Working with the Extension agent, Master Gardeners provide volunteer leadership and services to their community in gardening activities. As a Master Gardener you will work with the Extension program and have an opportunity to participate in organized volunteer activities. This may include working in the plant clinic, beautifying the community and other activities which promote horticulture.

Program graduates are expected to donate 100 hours of volunteer service to the Marion County Extension Office.

Prices are subject to change without notice. Call the Marion County Extension Service at (352) 671-8400 for more information and to enroll in the program.
