We help consumers of all ages learn about the importance of nutrition throughout the lifecycle for normal growth and maintenance. We also provide guidance to help promote the adoption of positive lifestyle behaviors to reduce risk of major chronic diseases and health conditions including heart disease, cancer, obesity, diabetes, hypertension and stroke.
Since proper nutrition is an important component of health promotion/disease risk reduction and maintenance, classes target appropriate nutrition behaviors that support prevention as well as disease management. Educational programs are designed to focus on helping people reduce principal risk factors including poor nutrition and lack of physical activity.
Programs are offered at the Extension Office as well as locations throughout the community.
