Digital Permitting 4-1-1: Your Guide to the Technology Requirements & How the Process Work
 
 
 
Follow the steps listed below to collect much of the information required to complete and process your application.  Use the information to fill out the permit application.  Bring this information with you when applying for a permit.
 
Print this webpage to use as a guide:

1. Print Permit Application Document Checklist

2. Print Permit Application

3. Print Blank Notice of Commencement

                 AND

    Check to see if Notice of Commencement has been recorded

                a. Under Public Records:
                    Click on 'Official Records Search'

                b. On Right Column - Search:
                    Click on 'Search Records Now'

                c. Type Name of Property Owner:
                    Click on Search

                d. Select Name from listing with Type 'NOC':
                    Click on View (Left of Name)

                e. When owner record is displayed:
                    Click on Get Image (Top of Page)

                 f. Document should appear.

4. Print Site Plan Form (if needed)

5. Check Contractor License Status -
                 Print Page for each contractor used

6. Print Location Map and Legal Description
                 Click the link above and follow the instructions below:

                a. Under Interactive Mapping,
                    Click the Marion County link.
                b. Click the property search button.(above map)

                c. Enter the property lookup information into one of
                    the three fields:

                    Name - Last name
                    Address - House number and street address
                    Parcel ID - Property tax ID number

                   (Information must be entered exactly as
                   recorded at the Property Appraiser's Office.)

                    Click the Search Button.

                d. Click the link for the Rec number of the property
                    to be located.
                e. Click the Zoom out button. Then click on
                    the highlighted property two times to zoom out.

                f. Print the location map.

                g. Click on the MCPA link located next to the
                     property parcel and owner description to locate
                     the legal description.

                h. Print the MCPA property page which contains the
                     legal description.

7. Print Product Approval Form

8. Check for Product Approval Number (if required)

9. Check Application Status after the application has been submitted.
