Marion County Code Enforcement Officers are responsible for
enforcing the provisions of many County Codes and Ordinances
enacted by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners. In
October, 1999, at the request of the Board, Marion County Code
Enforcement was appointed as the County's official cruelty
investigation organization. |

ANIMAL CRUELTY
Neglect, abandonment, abuse, and animals in
distress in motor vehicles.
ANIMAL CONTROL
Control of animals, licensing and rabies
vaccinations, nuisance barking, livestock at large, humane
trapping cages, stray dogs and cats, injured animals, and
attacking dogs.
BINGO PERMITS
Enforcing restrictions and issuing bingo
operation licenses.
DANGEROUS DOGS
Investigations for classification,
Certificates of Registration, confiscation, and follow-up
visits for compliance with the codes.
LAND DEVELOPMENT CODES
Zoning classifications, roadside vendors,
signs, construction in rights-of-way, commercial vehicle
parking, sight triangles, and home occupations.
MARION COUNTY CODES & ORDINANCES
911 address numbers to be displayed, sound
emissions, littering, accumulations of junk, unserviceable
vehicles, abatement of junk and litter on vacant property,
abatement of unoccupied unsafe structures and systems, open
burning, yard sales, title loans, mandatory filing of
covenants and financial records by developers, and the
placement of tobacco items.
