NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
MARION COUNTY, FLORIDA
Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report
 

Notice to Citizens:
Marion County receives federal entitlement funds annually from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME). Marion County must demonstrate how activities implemented with these funds address Strategic Plan objectives and priorities identified in the Consolidated Plan.

The Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) includes a summary of programmatic accomplishments and an assessment of progress toward meeting the priority needs and specific objectives identified in the Consolidated Plan.

Public Hearing:
A Public Hearing will be held on December 5, 2006 at the Commission Auditorium at the McPherson Government Complex, 601 SE 25th Avenue, Ocala. The Public Hearing will start at 5:30 pm for the general public.

Public Comment Period:
As required by HUD, the CAPER will be available for public review and comment beginning 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006 through 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2006 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the following locations:
           • Marion County Main Library, 2720 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala;
           • County Administrative Office, 601 SE 25th Avenue, Ocala; and
           • Community Services Department, 2303 SE 17th Street, Ocala

It may also be viewed on the Marion County Website, www.marioncountyfl.org, under the Community Services Department / CDBG page.

The public may submit written comments regarding the CAPER to the Community Services Department during the open comment period. For additional information please call 671-8770.

Final Action:
The Board of County Commissioners will consider the CAPER for final approval at their regularly scheduled December 19, 2006 Board Meeting.

The Commission Auditorium meets all handicapped provisions under federal law. If any accommodations are needed for persons with special needs, please contact the Marion County Public Affairs Office at 352-438-2300 a minimum of 24 hours prior to the meeting.
