Volunteers Make It Happen

Volunteers are the heart of 4-H. Over 400 volunteers make 4-H happen in Marion County. We are in dire need of club leaders to start new clubs in the rapidly growing areas of the county, for example, the Shores in the south east and in south west Ocala off State Road 200.

Volunteer Application Process

Volunteers working with 4-H youth on an ongoing basis (3 or more times, or overnight) must be screened and approved before they can begin to volunteer.

The screening process involves:

1. Completion of an application form, either mailed or faxed to us

2. Satisfactory reference check

3. Satisfactory national background check

4. Completion of interview and signed Behavior Expectation Form

Note: Volunteers are covered under the University of Floridas insurance if they become injured while working on behalf of 4-H.
