Local Buying Guide

Lawn Care Small farmers (Farms profiting up to $250,000 per year, based on the USDA definition.) are a vital part of the farming sector in Marion County. They contribute economically by making local purchases and provide green space in our rural landscapes. Buying food and value-added products from local farmers helps the farm receive higher profits for their product and reduces the pressure of selling their land to developers.

The Marion County Small Farm Local Buying Guide, published by the Marion County Extension Service, offers an outreach and marketing outlet for producers. Consumers can locate anything from a U-Pick orchard to a beef farmer selling directly to the community, to a variety of farmers who can provide a reliable resource of locally produced products.
