How to Join

If you are an avid gardener who enjoys sharing knowledge with others, then you have what it takes to be a Master Gardener.

The Master Gardener Program is a statewide horticultural training program offered through your county's local Extension Service. Working under the horticulture agent, Master Gardeners provide volunteer leadership and services to their community through a variety of fun and exciting garden-related activities, including exclusive trips to local and state garden parks, nurseries, festivals, and training seminars.

Some of the larger plant expos and sales put on by the Master Gardeners include the Spring Festival, Fall Gathering and the Vegetable Garden Expo.

The initial training program is offered once per year in late summer/early fall and lasts 13 weeks with classes meeting once a week for a minimum of six hours.
