Land Development Regulation Commission (LDRC)

The Land Development Regulation Commission (LDRC) is re-established pursuant to Section 163.3161, Florida Statutes, and amendments thereto with the following powers and duties:

1. a.	To review and consider all proposed land development regulations and amendments thereto,
   b.	To hold public hearings regarding proposed land development regulations and amendments thereto.
   c.	To make recommendations to the Board regarding consistency of proposed land development regulations or amendments with the County's approved and adopted Comprehensive Plan.
   d.	To review and make recommendations to the Board regarding the adoption and amendments to the Land Development Code.
   e.	To monitor and oversee the effectiveness and status of the Land Development Code and recommend to the Board such changes in the Code as may be required.
   f.	To make its special knowledge and expertise available, upon reasonable written request and authorization of the Board to any official, department, board, commission or agency of the County, State or Federal Governments.
   g	To adopt rules of procedure consistent with law and this Code as are necessary for administration and governance of its proceedings.
   h.	To perform such other functions, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to it by the Board or by general or special law.

Land Development Code (Amendments):

An amendment to the Land Development Code is under review by the LDRC. This 15th amendment to the LDC will be made to include a re-formatting of the code sections, the incorporation of regulations required by recent changes to the Comprehensive Plan, as well as, changes recommended by staff, stakeholders, and the LDRC.

LDRC meetings will be held every Wednesday beginning March 23, 2011, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Growth Management Training Room located at 2710 E. Silver Springs Blvd., next door to the Marion County Library headquarters. The meeting dates are available by selecting the "Meetings" link below.
