Funding opportunity Description
Marion County Community Services has $956,513.86 available in unencumbered federal HOME funds for the creation of affordable rental and housing units as well as permanent supportive housing. This includes acquisition, new construction and rehabilitation.

Priority projects include:
- Rental housing for special needs households, with priority for persons with developmental disabilities
- Smaller, one and two bedroom affordable rental units
- Clustered, 2-4 unit multi-family rental units for supportive housing
- Permanent supportive housing

Award information
Available funds will be distributed as:
- $328,271 for acquisition only, must be spent and fully rented by Sept. 1, 2018
- $532,909.31 for acquisition, construction and/or rehabilitation of affordable housing, must be committed by Sept. 1, 2018
- $95,333.55 for CHDO, developer of rental and/or homeownership housing, must be committed by Sept. 1, 2019

Funding will be a zero-interest, deferred/forgivable loan.

Eligibility information

Unit(s) must be located in Marion County
- Acquired units must be 90 days vacant, unless you have separate funding for relocation costs
- Minimum 25% committed matching funds
- For profit, not-for-profit, CHDOs
Eligible costs
- Pre-development costs
- Acquisition of land and/or existing units
- Renovation
- New construction
- Lead paint/asbestos testing and abatement
