All employees and volunteers of Marion County are covered by the Florida Workers’ Compensation statutes for injuries or illnesses that “arise out of and in the course and scope of their employment”.

Employee Assistance Program

The county recognizes that employees may sometime need support and treatment for psychological or emotional problems. Where feasible, the county will work in cooperation with area physicians and treatment programs to ensure that employees, requesting treatment are given prompt attention.

Employee Health Clinic determines eligibility

Tuition Reimbursement

50% Reimbursement of tuition expenses, up to a maximum of $700.00 per year; employee must be part of an approved degree program and receive passable grades.

Immediate after 6 months of employment

Uniforms

Some departments issue work clothes or uniforms relative to specific job functions.
