via fax. Applications are accepted for announced positions only. Unsolicited applications that do not specify the position will not be accepted. Applications must be completed to be considered, failure to complete the entire application; any misrepresentation, false or incomplete information or omission of facts requested is cause for rejection of this application or dismissal from county employment. Resumes may be attached to the application; however you must complete all information requested on the application. Responses such as "see attached" or "please see resume" may be cause for rejection of application. If an item does not apply to you, write an answer "N/A" or "Not Applicable." In accordance with Florida State 119.071(5)(2)(b), applicants and employees are requested to provide social security numbers. These will be used for background checks, payment of wages, reporting earnings to the Internal Revenue Service, issuance of W-2 forms, filling of worker's compensation claims, health, life, dental and long term disability insurance applications, new hire reporting and submission of contributions to the retirement fund or any other business purpose that may arise. NOTE: Under Florida Law, resumes and applications are considered as public documents and must be provided to the media and anyone else upon request. Effective January 1, 2008: It shall be the policy of Marion County Board of County Commissioners that all applicants for employment must sign an Affidavit for Non-use of Tobacco Products in order for their application to be considered. The non-use must have been for a period of at least one (1) year immediately preceding application for employment; and must be maintained for the duration of employment with Marion County, if hired. The Affidavit must be submitted at the time of application. |
