FRS (Florida Retirement System) Guidelines

 

Florida Retirement System is a benefit that is offered to Marion County Board of County Commissioners full-time and part-time employees at no cost.

New Employee Guidelines for FRS:

 

  • Florida Retirement System is notified of all employees eligible for this benefit through the Marion County Payroll Department

  • After 30 days of employment all eligible employees will receive a Retirement Choice Kit sent to their home address.

  • Once the Kit is received, eligible employees will have until 4pm ET of the last day of the 5th month following your month of hire to make a selection of a plan.

  • This benefit will provide you with two plan options to select from; FRS Pension Plan FRS Investment Plan.

 

During the selection period if you have any questions, please do no hesitate to contact the Human Resources Department at 352-438-2345 but before you make a retirement choice, be sure to review all the materials carefully and take advantage of the other resources offered through the MyFRS Financial Guidance Program such as:

  • Or the MyFRS.com Website, there is a FRS Plan Administrator to assist you with any questions you may have.
