The Staff

Marion County Information Systems consists of approximately 30 technicians and staff divided into specialized teams.

 

The GIS team (Geographical Information Systems) is responsible for the development of county maps, spatial analysis, GIS training and the GIS Internet/Intranet website.

Web Development is responsible for the Employee Portal and the Marion County website.

The PC/Networking Team is responsible for the daily operation and repair of the network and user computers.

The Telecommunications Team is responsible for the daily operation and repair of the County Wide IP phone system.

Security
Information Systems takes the security of our network and users information very seriously. We work  hard to keep the network running smoothly and up to date with the latest patches and fixes.

Training
Marion County Information Systems provides training for employees to be able to utilize the technology tools we provide.  Instructor-led, On-line, and computer based training are all available.  The following is an example of what is taught:

Microsoft Access 2003            Microsoft Word 2003
Microsoft Excel 2003               Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft FrontPage 2003        Microsoft Project 2003
Microsoft Outlook 2003            Microsoft PowerPoint 2003
 

 
The Network consists of Mostly Windows 2000/2003 Servers with user PC’s running the latest version of Microsoft Windows. The user computers are equipped with standard Microsoft software.

Many specialty programs are developed for various Departments such as: CDPlus - Used for Permitting ,Addressing Code, and Development Review
Alliance - Used for Payroll and HR
