Groundbreaking was an March 12, 2007 and we estimate
a 14-month construction schedule.

What will be the budget for the project?
The construction contract is $2,570,225; the total
project budget is $3,837,000

How is the new library being funded?
(1) One Cent Local Option Sales Tax;
(2) State of Florida Construction Grant;
(3) Capital Projects Fund;
(4) Community Development Block Grant; and
(5) General Revenue
tax dollars.

What will be the size of the of the new building?
The building will be 16,000 square fee, with the ability to
expand it at a later date to a maximum of 32,000 square
feet. (The current Dunnellon Public Library is
3,500 square feet.)

What will be some of the special features of the
new library building?
75,000 item collection capacity; 109 parking spaces;
10-person computer training lab; large program/community
meeting room; separate children's area with dedicated
programming room; special youth and teen area; 29
multi-purpose, public access computers; 1 self-service
check-out station; Friends of the Library bookstore.

How can I be a part of improving the library?
The Friends of the Dunnellon Public Library have started a fundraising program to provide enhancements to the library
