Administrative Aide:
Provide clerical support for one of the library offices. Assist with the creation of informational packets used for various library programs and projects.

All branch libraries & division areas Must be able to work independently and have basic knowledge of Microsoft computer software. Be able to assist library staff with meeting deadlines for various projects.

Adopt-A-Shelf Volunteer:
Maintain accessibility & appearance of a section you adopt! Identify books belonging to other branches, read labels & correct shelving mistakes.

All branch libraries & division areas Able to stand for prolonged periods of time, able to place things in alphabetical order and learn the Dewey Decimal system.

Create articles of interest to volunteers & staff. Maintain email list for newsletter & important databases.

Bookmobile Aide:
Assist with gathering materials for daily bookmobile routes. Contact patrons for book drops, & occasionally accompany driver on route

Use your creative flare to give the bookmobile a unique look for each season & holiday.

Headquarters-Ocala *This is a good group project-call for details. Must be able to work on weekends and Monday mornings. Able to lift up to 25 pounds and have a good eye for decorations. Can not have any serious allergies to cleaning products or dust.

Assist with preparing reading logs and other materials for community partners.

Circulation Aide:
Sort & shelve materials to include paperbacks, video & audio, new, non-fiction & fiction materials. Straighten books & assist with emptying book drops.

All branch libraries & division areas Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Bend and stoop to reach materials on a low shelf. Must be able to push or pull a multi-shelf book cart. Must be willing to learn the Dewey Decimal system and have good attention to details.

Computer Coach:
Assist patrons having problems with computer programs or with limited computer abilities. Assist instructors with computer training when needed.

Keep paper & pencils stocked by library computers. Maintain the lobby information area. Fold handouts; assist in book edging & designation dot reviews.

Genealogy Reference Aide:
Assist with filing microfiche & microfilm, shelf reading the genealogy reference collections, & help maintain data base information for researchers.

Help present programs of specialized themes. Assist with formation of materials needed for workshops & offer assistance to patrons attending.

Maintain vertical files; assist during survey weeks; help with microform/fiche machines; help maintain data base entries and filing.

Library Greeter:
Help direct patrons to the correct locations. Hand out materials for events and provide a physical count of attendees at those events.

Process and post outgoing notifications to patrons. Assist with the sorting and delivery of incoming mail as needed.

Mends all library materials. Works with torn & loose pages, broken spines, damaged covers, etc., so materials can continue to be used by the public.

Help compile materials for distribution at events. Prepare materials by folding, sorting, etc. Prepare & mount signage, set up booths & distribute materials.

Assist with monthly support meetings & monthly family craft days. Provide an extra set of eyes & hands for this program.

Headquarters-Ocala This very special program is in need of very special people. You must be able to be on hand the 3rd Thursday of the month, and the 3rd Saturday of the month for 1-2 hours as support. Stability is a key factor to volunteering for this position.
