Recycling Division

All eighteen recycling centers are located throughout the county.
These centers are fenced, lighted, and staffed.

No commercial waste or commercial recyclables are accepted at any recycling centers.  Businesses with recyclables can call the Solid Waste Department at (352) 671-8465 for assistance.  The recycling centers are open to county residents that pay solid waste assessment.

The Baseline Recycling center (not the Landfill) Hours of Operation are:
Monday thru Saturday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
and Sunday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.

All other recycling centers their Hours of Operation are:
Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Friday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Closed on Tuesday and Thursday.

Items accepted for recycling include:

bulletGlass bottles sorted by color, rinsed, lids removed
bulletPlastic bottles #1 through #7, rinsed, remove lids and smash, all colors
bulletNewspaper and inserts, loose or bundled
bulletMagazines and junk mail
bulletCorrugated cardboard, flatten boxes
bulletAluminum cans and clean aluminum foil
bulletRinsed tin cans now go into the scrap metal box
bulletUsed motor oil and oil filters (5 gallons or less per visit accepted)
bulletHousehold and automotive batteries
bulletLatex paint (5 gallons or less per visit)
bulletJunk mail
bulletYard waste (2 cubic yards per day per resident; under 4 inch diameter and 4 feet long accepted)
bulletScrap metal and appliances--NO COMMERCIAL
bulletSharps (In approved bio-hazard containers in the kiosks.)
bulletNO mattresses or box springs are accepted
bulletNO electronic equipment
bulletNO furniture except on designated days
