Shoulder repair and maintenance is accomplished through many
different methods and techniques. Paved roads with drop offs will be
fixed with lime rock, cold patch, plant mixed asphalt, chip seal or
a combination which ever is more efficient and effective after
evaluating the hazard. High shoulders, wash outs and other pavement
erosions are repaired with the proper technique and material called
for. All these processes are intended to protect the pavement edges
and provide a safer traveling surface for the Citizens of Marion
