Licensing is responsible for making sure contractors working in Marion
County are properly licensed by Marion County and/or the State of Florida.
A licensing clerk maintains records for the division and a license check
is made each time a permit is issued. Licensing Investigators work in the
field checking to make sure that projects are permitted, contractors are
properly recorded in the permit file, and investigating complaints of
unlicensed contractor activity. A listing of contractors that are
currently registered to work in Marion County is available in our office
and on this website.
