Florida Yards & Neighborhoods was developed by the University of Florida IFAS and the National Estuary Program. This program is partially funded through a grant from the SWFWMD Withlacoochee River Basin Board.

We are all connected to Florida's environmental well-being through the air we breathe, water we drink, and environment we live in. Our quality of life depends upon our active participation in the management of our natural resources.

We provide educational information, classes and events geared toward assisting homeowners on how they can create and maintain Florida-Friendly yards.

County Extension Services are the lead agencies implementing this program. Partnerships are encouraged with other governmental and non-governmental agencies, the public and private sector and the green industry.
