Important inspection information:
All building inspections will be scheduled in the order requests are received. When an inspection date is full, new inspection requests will be scheduled for the next available inspection date. To schedule a partial inspection please call office at 352-438-2400.
Driveway and Utility Inspection requests must be received by 3:30 p.m. prior to the requested date to be eligible for Next Business Day Inspection scheduling. All requests received after 3:30 p.m. will be scheduled at least two days from receipt.

|>||Effective August 1, 2017, Marion County Building Safety will no longer accepted mailed in permit applications.
The Contractor Licensing Division is responsible for making sure contractors working in Marion County are properly licensed by Marion County and/or the State of Florida. A Contractor Licensing Representative maintains records for the division and a license check is made each time a permit is issued.
Code Enforcement and Building Inspectors assist in the field verifying that projects are permitted.
