Summer camps are one of the most valuable learning experiences a child can have!
4-H offers a variety of both day and overnight camps. Day camps typically focus on specific subject areas like nutrition or science and are held at the Marion County UF/IFAS Extension Service. Day time hours vary, but normally run from 6 to 8 hours daily for up to five consecutive days.
For the ultimate overnight camping experience, youth are encouraged to enroll in one of 4-H's three state-run camp centers. Youth get to spend a week in cabins and take part in lots of fun activities like crafts, canoeing, archery, snorkeling, swimming, campfires and team-building workshops.
State camps: Florida has three 4-H camp centers located in Madison, Niceville and Sebring. Camps are open to both 4-H and non-4-H youth. For more information, visit www.florida4h.org.
