There are many other personal reasons
for wanting to volunteer @ your library.
If you understand and believe in the
mission of your public library then come and share your
time and talent with the Marion County Public Library
System. As our county continues to grow so does
the need for help with sorting and shelving books,
assisting with special programs, keeping informational
databases up to date, helping patrons learn computer
skills, keeping books in the proper place so they can
easily be found, and a hundred other tasks. You
could be just the right person to help make a difference
just by sharing a little of the biggest asset you
possess, your time!
All prospective volunteers must
complete an application and be interviewed for any
position. They must also pass a background check
and a drug screening before working in the library of
their choice. Volunteers that are matched up with
an opportunity will receive training for the work they
will be completing.
