NOTICE OF ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
FOR VACANCIES ON VOLUNTEER ADVISORY BOARDS

The Marion County Board of County Commissioners currently has vacancies on the following volunteer boards:

Silver Springs Shores Special Taxing District
(1 full member/unexpired term)
Applicants must be registered voters and residents of Silver Springs Shores Special Tax District. Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners until the next general election. Responsibilities: To advise the Marion County Board of County Commissioner on all matters pertaining to the recreation services and facilities, street lighting and law enforcement in the     Silver   Springs Shores Special Tax District.

Tourist Development Council
(1 full member/unexpired term)
Applicant must be a registered voter of Marion County and must be an individual involved in the tourist industry that demonstrates an interest in tourist development, but must not be an owner or operator of motels, hotels, recreational vehicle parks, or other tourist accommodations in the county and subject to the tourist tax. Responsibilities: The TDC meets at least once a quarter and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for the effective use of tourist development tax revenues. The council continuously reviews expenditures of revenues from the tourist development tax fund.

Applications for said vacancies may be obtained at the Marion County Board of County Commissioners’ Office located at 601 SE 25th Ave., Ocala; online at www.marioncountyfl.org or by calling 352-438-2323. 

The deadline for receiving applications is Feb. 21, 2019 at 5 p.m.  The Marion County Board of County Commissioners plans to appoint members on Thursday, March 07, 2019 or as soon thereafter as possible.
