Proposed mitigation planning Community Development Block Grant application
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: JULY 17-30, 2020
All written comments must be received at community Services by 5 p.m. on July 30, 2020

Marion County is submitting grant applications through the Florida Department of Equal Opportunity (DEO) for 12 county management plan initiatives to carry out strategic and high-impact activities that mitigate disaster risks and reduce future losses. Officials from Marion County Community Services and Growth Services as well as the Marion County Office of the County Engineer have worked together to draft applications for the creation and improvement of project plans meant to increase resilience to disasters and reduce or eliminate the long-term risk of loss of life, injury, damage to and loss of property, and suffering and hardship by lessening the impact of future disasters. If awarded, these grants will strengthen the county storm water and planning objectives from future disasters.

Copies of the proposed mitigation planning community development block grant application drafts available from Marion County Community Services at the address listed in this notice, and may also be found at www.marioncountyfl.org.

A summary of public comments received on the proposed mitigation planning community development block grant applications will be included as evidence that meets compliance with the DEO’s 14-day public notice requirement when submitted by July 30, 2020.
