Each permit type has specific application and approval requirements.
1. Use the applicable building permit checklist to determine if your application requires additional forms and for permit-specific directions.
2. Complete the building permit application.
3. Submit your building permit application packet.
All permit applications must include the required deposit fee.
Fees may be paid by: cash, escrow account fund, checks (payable to Marion County BOCC) or credit cards.
To make a credit card payment by email, submit a credit card request form to the permitting office.
*Please do not send cash via mail.
For contractors with escrow accounts:
Building permit application packets which do not include plans are accepted during operating hours via email - Buildingpermits@marioncountyfl.org. Building permit application packets containing plans are accepted during operating hours, via mail and electronically using ePlans.
Permit tips:
Permit application packets are processed in the order in which they are received.
Missing required documents or other information will cause delays in the approval process.
