Marion County UF/IFAS Extension Service is a cooperation between (and funded by both) the Marion County Board of County Commissioners and the University of Florida. Extension agents who are experts in their fields compose the staff and work to “extend” the research and resources of the university to Marion County residents through educational programs and services in the following topics:

4-H Youth
Nearly 1,000 Marion County children and teens belong to 37 4-H clubs that vary in specialty from horses to archery. 

Equine and livestock, small ruminants, poultry, small farms, green farm practices, food systems, and the Agricultural Hall of Fame.

Family and Consumer Sciences
Families, aging, financial management, food safety, nutrition and wellness.

Lawn and Garden
Home gardening, Master Gardeners, Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ and commercial horticulture.

Water and Energy Education
Find information on home water safety, home water and energy efficiency, indoor air quality and environmental stewardship.
