Marion County Facilities Management coordinates the planning, design and construction of all proposed county-owned facilities and maintains more than 300 existing county-owned and leased structures. Totaling more than three million square feet, these include office buildings, fire stations, the clerk of the court, judicial center, state attorney’s office, public defender’s office, the supervisor of elections office, county libraries, county park structures, county jail facilities and sheriff’s office operations center and substations.

Staff is responsible for building maintenance and repairs, minor renovations, custodial services, construction management, energy management and ADA and safety standard-compliance. Staff also employs consistent preventive maintenance techniques to ensure the smooth operation of mechanical systems and the most conservative use of energy possible.
