About the Housing Finance Authority
Special district's full, legal name: Marion County Housing Finance Authority
Published purpose: To increase the available of essential housing within Marion County.
Fiscal year: Oct. 1 to Sept. 30
Established on July 15, 1980 by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners
(Ord. No. 80-5, § VI, 7-15-80)
Sec. 2-100 - Area of operation.
The authority shall have the power and is hereby directed to operate within the territorial boundaries of the county, and within any area outside the territorial boundaries of the county, if the governing body of the county within which such outside area is located so approves, either generally or only for specified qualifying housing developments or only for a specified number of qualifying housing developments.
Conflicts of interest: Florida Statutes, section 112.313, standards of conduct for public officers, employees of agencies, and local government attorneys.
